Alan how I miss you

Words just cannot say

I've tried to act out normal

But the pain won't go away

I thought I was much stronger

I thought I could be a rock

But as each passing day goes by

My emotions run amok

The bond we had was special

I realised this too late

You were much more than a brother

You were probably my best mate

On all our banding problems

A solution we always found

Even when we disagreed

We reached a common ground

I know how much you struggled

In the last two years or more

I wished that I could take the pain

That you sometimes did endure

Your total dedication

Was something to admire

You leave a special legacy

For everyone to aspire

It's too late now to tell you

How much those moments meant

In Weymouth, Torquay, Harrogate and Poole

The magic times we spent

I've hurt so much with laughter

I've been on the stage in pain

You were most definitely one of a kind

And it will never be the same again

Alan how I miss you

Words just cannot say

I'll try to act out normal

But the pain won't go away
