Name: Lisa Armstrong
Position: 1st baritone
Nickname: Don't have one!
Age: 37
How you started banding:
I started at the age of 10 playing Euphonium and then went onto Trombone when I was 14. I was a member of Stonesfield Silver Band (Oxfordshire) where we did many contests and concerts. My grandparents supported the band well with refreshments etc just like some families do now for Shrewton Silver Band-great memories for me. I joined the WRAC band in Jan 1989 of Trombone and served until 1995.
Best ever moment:
When Michael said I could join Shrewton Silver Band when Woodfalls said they didn't want me!
Worst ever moment:
When the WRAC disbanded and we became the first mixed band in the Army, the AGC. It was never the same, all us girls got all the best jobs and had the best time and the men joining us were no fun and took all of the promotions!!
When did you join:
Jan 2006
Favourite band pieces
Music-Music (John Miles), Trailblaze, Stage Centre, Amparito Roco and The Mission
Least favourite piece:
Glenn Miller special (I don't swing!!!!!)
Any other details:
My wonderful Husband Neil plays in the band and that makes it so much more fun!
