Feedback from some in the audience, 4bars rest and the British Bandsman were more positive, but its the adjudicators thoughts that count. However disappointed we all were, we look forward to playing in 1st Section and have already had a run through the regional test piece.

Contest Workshop

Over the weekend 6/7 Mar 10 the band were put through their paces by Rob Wiffin, Professor of Conducting at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall. We were playing the second section test piece 'Kingdom of Dragons'.

Saturday saw us in our usual rehearsal room in the Methodist chapel and Sunday, as the photos show, in the new school hall. The variety of acoustics was both a challenge and an education that saw steady improvement over the workshop.

Our thanks go to Rob, the school, and to Mo for providing all the refreshments.
